Here’s my attempt to post a little more often about the relevant things in our lives.
At some point during my pregnancy we decided that it would be a good idea to replace our 20-year-old 15-year roof. Being as we’re in one of the rainiest parts of the country, somehow the idea of ending up with a leaky roof with a new baby felt like a bad idea. Another bad idea? To have a roof replaced when you’re 37 weeks pregnant. Here’s hoping the contractors are as quick as they say (1-3 days max), and they don’t find any unpleasant surprises under the current shingles!
House projects abound, it seems. Yesterday MamaLee scrubbed and painted the kitchen, something that hasn’t been done in the 8 years we have live here. It’s amazing how beautiful it looks without food stains on the walls…This was her big happy birthday to me. Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite presents involve doing things around our house that I don’t have time or energy to do. My wife is awesome.
In other news, MamaLee is at a job interview right now. It’s a minimum wage retail job, but it would help float us until she’s done with her thesis and actually holds a master’s degree, which would be lovely! I also like the possibility that this job would be primarily evening hours, which would mean less time Bug would be in the care of others after my 10 week FMLA leave. Finger’s crossed.
